This laboratory will give an opportunity to the students and researchers for hands-on training and research on FMS, CIM, including operation, control and programming of various computer controlled machines such as CNC machine tools, Robots, Automated Storage/Retrieval (ASRS) systems, Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems as well as issues relating to computer-aided production planning, scheduling and control, system modeling, simulation and performance analysis of FMS and CIM systems.

The laboratory is equipped with the some of the latest state-of-the-art facilities as follows:
• A Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) System,
• A CNC milling machine with Automatic Tool Changer (Make: MTAB),
• A slant bed CNC Lathe with 8 station programmable turret (Make: MTAB)
• A 6-axis articulated Robot (Make: MTAB),
• A pneumatically actuated loading/unloading arm (Make: MTAB),
• An Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) (Make: MTAB),
• An Automated Storage / Retrieval System (AS/RS) (Make: MTAB),

As well as various software packages such as,
• CNC Programming Software for Lathe and Milling Machine
• Simulation and Control Software of Robot manipulators
• Simulation and Control Software of Computer Integrated Manufacturing System
