Faculty & students from Department of Management Studies, GL Bajaj got the wonderful opportunity to attend a special lecture on “The role of business in achieving the SDGs for India and the World” organized by UN Global Compact Network India in association with UN ESCAP (United Nations Economic & Social Commission for Asia and The Pacific). The Sustainable Development Goals provides a global plan of action for people, planet and prosperity – a plan of action with a universal set of goals and targets that empowers us all to deliver the world that we want by the year 2030.

 

The distinguished speaker for the session was Dr. Yasmin Ali Haque, UNICEF representative in India. Prior to joining UNICEF, she was Deputy Director of UNICEF’s Office of Emergency Operations where she played a lead role in the programming and policies for an effective UNICEF response for children in humanitarian crisis. She shared her views on how SDGs should be an agenda for every person as it is an wholesome effort towards development of the economy.
