TRAINING AND PLACEMENT - “We reap Professionals”
Training and Placement Cell in the Institute plays a vital role and is becoming a key department of the Institute. As there are many more Engineering Colleges coming up, the competition for employment is increasing every day and the job of placement is becoming a challenging one.
The Training and Placement Office has come in its inception since quite a long time and is performing activities like arranging implant training for students and inviting various organizations for campus recruitment.

The Process:
Campus Recruitment commences every year in the month of August and continues till May of coming year. The selection mode adopted by different organizations encompass Written Aptitude Test /Technical Test, Group Discussions, Personal Interview and final HR Interview.
Activities of Training and Placement:

Conducting soft skills workshops for the overall development & grooming of the students.
Intensive Campus to Corporate program for student undergoing recruitment process.
Providing summer training for the students with companies.
Organizing Guest Lectures by eminent professionals from Industry and corporate business leaders.

EVENTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF T&P DEPARTMENT – AY 2010-2011
	August – October 2010: Off campus drive for TCS, Infosys & Ericsson
	The beginning of the Academic Year began with a great bang with some of the best opportunities coming for our students. GL Bajaj has been fortunate and honoured for being selected as one of the key venue for the Off Campus Drives of TCS, Infosys and Ericsson for batch 2009 & 2010 in North India Region. During these drives we had an average footfall of 3000 students per day, with students coming from across North and North-West India (areas covered were Rajasthan, UP, Uttaranchal, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh).

	Nov 2010: 5 days workshop on Campus to Corporate program for Batch 2011 (B.Tech & MCA)
	A 5 – Day Workshop was organized to prepare our students for their upcoming life in Corporate Sector. The sessions covered various Employability Skills which any student should be aware about, like: Communications Skills (listening, verbal, written) Analytical/Research Skills Computer/Technical Literacy Interpersonal Abilities Leadership/Management Skills Problem-Solving/Reasoning/Creativity Teamwork

	Nov 2010: TCS visit at Campus for Accreditation
	Basis the outstanding performance during the Off – Campus Drives, TCS visited out campus in November 2010 for the Accreditation Process.

	December 16, 2010: TCS ACCREDITATION
	The Academic Year 2010-2011 saw some of the major events and developments at GLBITM. One such milestone was the Accreditation from TCS on December 16, 2010. Basis our performance in the 5 day Off Campus Drive in the month of August and the process of Accreditation, our college was accredited by TCS for forthcoming Campus Drives, Workshops and other Academic – Industry alliance. During the accreditation process, the team of TCS visited our campus and the assessment was done on the basis of Students Performance Faculty Performance Placement Performance Infrastructure Add on facilities for students i.e. Labs, Machineries, etc.

	Jan 2011: TCS hires 56 students in campus placement exclusive for GLBITM students.
	Post Accreditation, we had the 1st exclusive Campus Placement Drive for TCS where 56 students got placed.

	Feb 2011: Campus Drives on full swing with companies like HCL COMNET, L&T ECC, BirlaSoft, CMC, Global Logic, Muruguppa and many more….
	The month of February saw the visit of various companies for the Placement Drives. The key companies were HCL COMNET & L&T ECC with the visit of more than 850 students for each drive. Apart from these there were various successful off-campus drives like BirlaSoft, CMC, Global Logic, Muruguppa, etc.

	March 2011: Kimberly Voletero Global Head (Microsoft Student to Business Initiative) visited and addressed the students of G.L.Bajaj
	Ms. Kimberly Voltero (Global Head-Microsoft S2B Initiative) & Mr. Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi (Head - Academic Initiatives at Microsoft India) visited our campus on March 14, 2011 for a Campus Connect Program. The session was on the topic “Challenges & Opportunities for Young Professionals in this new decade”.

	March 2011: Nokia C3 Chat Championship
	A promotional Program for Nokia “Nokia C3 Chat Championship” was organized in association with the team of Event Crafter. This Chat Championship is being organized in more than 50 Top Colleges of North India. The winning team got a trophy and the participating students got various goodies.

	April 2011: TCS workshop on “Expectations of students from IT Industry.”
	A workshop was organized by the TCS Officials on April 8th, 2011 at the college campus where a discussion was done on the Expectations of students from IT Industry.

	April 2011: Microsoft Dream Spark Yatra- Seminar on Cloud Computing.
	Microsoft Dream Spark Yatra, an event in association with Microsoft Community Techdays (An initiative by Microsoft) was organized on April 21, 2011. The goal of the day was to conduct a large – scale technology – oriented events; which focus on spreading awareness among the masses about new and innovative technologies.

	April 2011: Off Campus Drive of TCS.
	An Off – Campus Drive was organized for the BCA/B.Sc Students passing in 2011 where nearly 500 students participated from NCR Region.

	May 2011: Campus Placement week for Intelligroup and Global Logic
	Campus Placement Week was organized for Intelligroup & Global Logic where more than 1000 students participated from the NCR Region.

	May 2011: Off Campus Drive of IGATE Patni.
	An Off – Campus Drive was organized for the BCA/B.Sc Students passing in 2011 where students participated from NCR Region.
