Self Defense and Women Empowerment

In a country like India where the cases of gender violence are on the rise, Women , usually referred as the weaker sex and considered as easier targets. It is now high time that women get the right knowledge and familiarize right techniques of self-defence which will empower them and allow them to be more confident and safe. Keeping this in mind, DMS- GL Bajaj organized a workshop on “Self- Defense and Women Empowerment” in association with jwala.org.in, a non- political self-funding social organization of women. 

Our Chief Guest for the day, Ms.Suniti, SP – Rural Area, Gautam Budh Nagar is truly a noble personalitity. Ms.Suniti is a B.tech graduate with Computer science and Engineering. She qualified IPS - RR exam in 2013 and since then servicing our city and the nation. Ms. Suniti shared valuable ideas and created awareness upon the importance of being safe. She also shared many efforts that the government and state police is taking in the same direction.

JWALA has a very clearly defined aim and that is "empowerment of women". Their vision is to create and nurture "A world where every woman, man and child leads a healthy, fulfilling life of self-reliance and dignity." Human dignity, gender equality, empowerment, sustainability, social transformation, decentralization and transformative leadership are some strong principles they believe in to achieve this relevant cause. To pursue this helpful cause in the long term GL Bajaj- DMS and JWALA collaborated into a long term association by signing a #(MOU)Memorandum of Understanding. 

Our students thoroughly enjoyed the whole session and definitely felt conscious, motivated and self-confident, which was actually the sole purpose of this effort. Here are some pictures of the perfect day.
