Workshop for Students Career Counselling for Prospective Placements

With a motive to enhance the employability skills of the students, AKTU, Lucknow organized career counselling session in G.L. Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida. Shri Dinesh Pathak (Senior journalist and renowned career counselor) motivated the students to enhance their confidence level and impart flexibility by acquiring additional knowledge through online courses. He emphasized the need of self-motivation among students and suggested methods to boost their self-confidence. The session was attended by more than 350 students of Mechanical and Civil Engineering students. The energy among the students was evident through their queries during and after the session. This program will have deep impact on the thinking process of students about their career prospects. The institute would like to organize more of such programs in future. Dr. Rajeev Agarwal, Director GLBITM reiterated the need of self-motivation among the students and offered support from institute for such programs in future.

ABOUT LECTURE
The SBG Hall Of GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management witnessed the presence of most respected Shri Dinesh Pathak, counselor at UIIC of AKTU. First he began with the introduction of UIIC and requested all the students to upload their resume to the Industry Interface Cell and if there is a chance of matching the resume the cell will send a notification to the person for their placement. He told about the hiring companies located in Hyderabad the company which hires on analytic terms is click and the company which hires on robotic and other terms is a Bengaluru-based company adding to this he also said that these companies provide training and certification free of cost to people and it's of great benefit. After this he also told us about the digital education provided by AKTU on a YouTube channel that there are 250 videos and every day 15 and 20 videos are uploaded from the for clearing our topics. He also told us about his career and his life experiences about the job and studies.

After that he discuss the effect of social media on students he said time is the most powerful of all adding to this he asked the students to minimize the time given to social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp as it slowly killing the time which can be used in other beneficial works. He also told about his struggle in his early stages of life and the success he achieved at a very young period of life.

Teaching nowadays has been quite professional he also asked to change the story telling approach of teaching and learning and changing them to the practical. He requested the student to do a 3-hour certification course along our B Tech course and also the language course such as C, C++, Python, Java along with the graduation to boost our knowledge and it will also increase our salary in the company. This is the time that we can develop our skills. At last he spoke motivational words about the approach and the mindset of the student’s negative mindsets can lead to become like Osama Bin Laden and positive mindsets can lead to become like doctor APJ Abdul Kalam both were engineers but they were powering different approach towards life he motivated the students to become like Kalam not like Laden.

The session ended with the question answer phase in which he bless the children with his great wisdom of words are knowledge and he motivated us to the better placement. We are very thankful to the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University that they provided us with such a great workshop for student’s career counselling for prospective placement. We hope that such type of workshops will be held again and again to clear our doubts about the placement and also shows the path to a better future.
