Guest Lecture on Evolution of 5G - Opportunities and Challenges

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering successfully organized an online session on 11 April 2022 (3:00- 4:30 pm) in an effort to produce skilled and competent engineers with cooperation from industry. Experts from Capgemini: Mr. Vivek Bhola and Mr. Prashant Badaal were invited to interact with budding engineers on Innovations in 5G and possible opportunities in the future.

The session started with speakers briefing about the Capgemini as one of industry leader in technology and talked about possible project ideas related to 4G and 5G wireless communication and placement opportunities. The session witnessed numerous questions from students which were diligently answered by expert speakers.   

Department of ECE has successfully setup 4G/5G Advanced Wireless Lab in collaboration with Capgemini. Dr. Satyendra Sharma (HoD ECE) and Dr. Piyush Yadav (Associate Professor, ECE) are GLBITM Capgemini SPOC. This lab will help students to work on cutting edge 5G technologies and develop commercial opportunities through joint innovations and IPR development.

The session witnessed an active participation of around 100 students and 10 faculty members of ECE. The faculty coordinator for the event was Dr. Astha Sharma, Associate Professor, ECE.
