The Department offers

The department offers essential courses like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Communication skills to B.Tech. 1st year students of undergraduate engineering branches and Humanities according to the prescribed curriculum.

Chemistry Laboratory

Chemistry Laboratory comprises of well-equipped and spacious laboratory for practical training in the subject. Spectrophotometer, PH meter, calorimeter, glass distillation unit, electric balance, electric oven, thermostatic water bath, thermostatic hot plates are some of the major equipments available in working condition. All glass apparatus are of standard borosil and quality reagents required for the practical are available in the laboratory in sufficient quantity.

Physics Laboratory

Physics Laboratory has modern facilities and well-equipped laboratory. Physics Laboratory work, for the B.TECH is an important part of the course. It provides an opportunity for learning through observations to become familiar with the instruments and gaining experience in handing them.

To nurture the students into a perfect engineer, the motive of learning through on hand practice is strictly followed. All students are required to do independent experimentation under the tutelage of experienced faculty. Physics Laboratory is equipped with the following experiments:- Hall Effect set up with electromagnet, Energy Band Gap by four Probe Method, Polarimeter, Newton’s Rings Experiment, Nodal Slide Experiment, Fresnel’s Bi-Prism Experiment, Transmission Grating, Carey Foster’s Bridge, Stefan’s Law by Electrical Method, Variation of Magnetic Field, Ballistic Galvanometer, Hysterics Curve.
p-n junction diode characteristics, Loss and NA mesaurement of an optical fiber, Study of polarization of light etc.

Thus, the need for conceptualizing the framework followed by rational applications becomes imperative. The department attempts at enhancing the student’s analytical powers to ground them firmly in the so called “difficult” field of mathematics.

PC Laboratory

The main objective of the Professional Communication Lab is to develop students’ communication skills. Communication lab is helpful to enrich the discourse competence, to prepare the learner to be able to produce contextualize written text and speech.  Many students are hesitant to come on the dais, this lab trains them to overcome hesitation and use language effectively so as to face interviews and participate in group discussions, public speaking etc. It enables them to learn better pronunciation through stress on word accent, intonation, and rhythm. It is also helpful to cultivate the habit of reading passages from the computer monitor and initiate them into greater use of the computer in resume preparation, report writing, format-making etc. thus providing them with the required facility to face computer-based competitive exams such as GRE, TOEFL, GMAT, CAT, GATE etc.

Soft Skills Training

The Soft Skills Training Team focuses on comprehensive and holistic development of the students to make them "professionally competent and socially sensitive engineers" as envisioned in the vision and mission of the organization. The training focuses on all round development of the individuals in accordance with the industry needs.
SCOPE
The scope of the team extends to the students, staff and faculty of the organisation. The prime focus is to impart quality soft skills training to anyone who needs it. It believes in making the individuals the harbingers of change for a better tomorrow. It covers students in all fields of engineering, including CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, ME, CE, MBA & MCA.

Language and Communication Skills

To complete a process of communication man requires a language that is the principal method of human communication, consisting of words used in a structured and conventional way and conveyed by speech, writing, or gesture.
Communication is the act of giving, receiving, and sharing information -- in other words, talking or writing, and listening or reading. Human language is unique which separates him from animals. Its evolution defines that how it came into existence as earlier it was based on some sounds only. Later there was the introduction of phonemes and syllables which gave a new dimension to communication. The first hints of writing were discovered in Iraq in 3200 BC, and a structure in the form of 'alphabets' was discovered in Lebanon and Israel in 1600 BC. The first paper is said to have originated in China in 200 BC, and we as a human race have never looked back since.
Invention of printing press and satellite became a revolution as it connected to the man of the globe. Today, human is having more than 7117 languages to interact and 25 languages are used worldwide to communicate with each other.

English

English is more than a language; it is the language that binds the world and makes its speakers worldwide citizens. It is not only a discipline taught in schools and colleges, but it is still the language of business, research, medicine, and engineering, along with all the most up-to-date knowledge available in English on the World Wide Web at the press of a button.
To help our students improve their English communication skills, we have a trained and skilled English faculty who teaches relevant issues as recommended by the AKTU curriculum, such as Professional English in B. Tech I year, MBA I Year Business Communication, MCA I Year Professional Communication, B. Tech II year Technical Communication.
