IPR - A Journey from Idea to Patent

A KT Workshop Series 1 on IPR: A Journey from Idea to Patent was organized on 18th Feb 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This workshop was organized by G. L. Bajaj Center for Research and Incubation (GLBCRI) at Auditorium 1, Academic Block 1. The aim of the workshop was to help faculty members understand the procedures to convert their idea or research outcome into patents. Faculty members from department of IT and MCA at GLBITM participated in this Workshop
The workshop was started with the welcome of speakers by the HoDs of IT and MCA. After welcome of speakers, the first presentation was given by Mrs. Pooja Kumar, Founder/Director, Innove Intellects LLP. Mrs. Kumar started her presentations with the basics of IPR, its types, concerned agencies of Intellectual Property Right (IPR) in India and around the globe. She also discussed about the importance of Registration for Intellectual Properties (IPs). Further, her presentation was focused on Patents, criteria of a patent with examples.
 After the presentation of Mrs. Pooja Kumar, the workshop was carried forward by second speaker Ms. Madhulika, IPR Expert. She discussed about many areas from Computer Science background that can be explored for patent filing. She also shared her experiences and many examples of patents in her presentation.
At the end of the workshop, Dr. Madhu Gaur expressed her gratitude towards the speakers for spending their valuable time for this workshop. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, DGM GLBCRI delivered the Vote of thanks to the speakers. He also informed the participants that they will receive a format from Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, IPR Convener and the participants will have to send the filled format to [email protected] 
Dr. Mahaveer Naruka, Head-Outreach and Dr. Sanjay Kumar, DGM-GLBCRI were the Conveners of this workshop. Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Dr. Astha Sharma and Mr. Avdhesh Tyagi contributed as Organizing Secretary.
