IPR - Patent filing Problem Solution and Product - fit Market

An engineer with a patent is in a different class when patent ideas come from brainstorming and knowing customers. Keeping in view The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) & G. L. Bajaj Center for Research and Incubation (GLBCRI) of G L Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh conducted an Online workshop on "IPR: Patent filing, Problem Solution and Product-fit Market" on 08/01/2022 (2:00 PM- 5:00 PM). 
The session started with the welcome address by respected director of Institute, Prof. Rajeev Agarwal sir followed by a talk on G.L.Bajaj Center for Research and Incubation (Incubation Center) by Dr.Sanjay Kumar (DGM,GLBCRI). The Chief guest Prof. Raghav saha ,Senior advisor and Scientist at DST, IPR Consultant and Former Director TIFAC, Govt. of India, elaborated on IP tools, technology and different types of IP rights. He shared the right of the public, which included compulsory licensing, pre-grant opposition. According to Dr. Saha patent agent and trademark agent should be science graduates. He also discussed about end-to-end process which included discovery and development, preclinical and clinical research, and post-marketing safety monitoring.
The session on achieving Problem-solution fit & product-market fit was taken by Dr. KUMARI LIPI. Dr.Lipi is  Registered Patent Agent, India and with a specialization in IPR. She has also worked as WOS-C at Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), New Delhi, a division of Department of Science and Technology. The session continued with the Expert talk on Introduction to IP & legal patent filing procedure in India was given by Mrs. Pooja Kumar. She is Founder and Director of Innove Intellects LLP established in 2017. She is also a Registered Patent Agent and Start-up facilitator of Govt. of India. She holds more than 15 years of experience in Intellectual Property Rights Field. She has won gold medal in Masters’ degree in Microbial & Food Technology from Punjabi University Patiala. Besides that, she had also qualified Gate exam in 2008 and Indian Patent Agent Exam in 2010. She has delivered more than 200 Awareness programs related to Intellectual Property Rights. Recently in 2020, she is recognized as top women consultants for her contribution in the field of IPR. She has empanelled with Gujarat Innovation Council. She is not only creating IP awareness in India but also working for international countries. Recently she is invited as panelist in Nigeria for one IP radio station. She has received various awards and recognition in her professional journey.
The overall session was quite informative. The question of students was suitable answered by the external guest and speakers. Total 100 students and 32 teachers were benefitted by the online workshop. The session ended by the vote of thanks by Prof. Mahaveer Naruka (Head- Outreach, GLBITM).
