Orientation Programme (MBA) 2017

If you want a happy ending, it depends, of course, on where you stop your story. --- Orson Welles We are super excited to share with all that our 12th batch of MBA started with their formal orientation programme today. This programme entail of a series of intellectual, motivational speakers and corporate ambassadors interacting, networking and sharing tips and tricks with our students which are essential to make a mark in the corporate world. We welcome all new students of 12thMBA batch 2017 – 2019 to Industry- Academia Leadership Symposia (IALS) 2017. To kick start this interface we invited our first guest Mr. Sankalp Kohli who is truly an inspiration. An entrepreneur, an author, a corporate personality and more than anything else he is an incredible storyteller. He believes that life is one big story and each part of it is an interesting chapter which we can use in order to groom our personality and make it appealing to the business world. He is a self- motivated management professional with over 6 years of experience and about 4 GB of stories from the corporate world. He has shared this beautiful art with students in top IIMs and IITs including IIM- Luck now, IIM- Ranchi, IIM- Indore, IIM- Sambalpur, IIT- Bombay and IIT- Jodhpur. With the intense competition in today’s job market, everyone’s searching for new and better ways to be memorable to hiring managers. Since all hiring managers are looking for someone to bring value, your ability to articulate this message is what will set you apart from someone else with comparable skills. The art of storytelling can be applied to interviews as a strategy for making your case clear and impactful. Your interview should be used as a means of connecting you with your hiring boss. Mr. Sankalp taught our students how they can convert their powers and strengths to crack any interview if only they can relate it to some emotions and presents in a beautiful story. As he believes that it is realistic to connect deeply to emotions and stories rather than mere facts and figures. If the stories you tell are meaningful, succinct and tied to the values and interests of your interviewer, they could make you a more memorable job candidate. The connection you build with your interviewer through telling a great story could land you your dream job.
