Industrial Visit to Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)

As part of the academic curriculum, the Department of CSIT organized an exposure visit to the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Central Laboratory, Sahibabad, on 12 November 2025. The primary purpose of the visit was to help students understand the role of BIS in quality assurance, observe testing processes, and explore various quality control mechanisms. This practical exposure aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world applications.

Objectives of the Visit :
To understand the role of BIS in quality assurance and standardization, and to study the functioning of a national reference laboratory.
To gain hands-on exposure to testing and calibration procedures.
To understand the process of product certification and quality evaluation.

The exposure visit to the BIS Central Laboratory, Sahibabad, was highly beneficial and educational. By observing real-time laboratory operations and interacting with experts, students gained essential practical knowledge that strengthens their academic foundation. The visit enhanced their awareness of consumer protection, enriched their technical skills, and motivated them to pursue excellence in their respective fields.
