Internal Hackathon - CODEBREAKERS

Department of Computer Science Engineering & Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering jointly organized two days Internal Hackathon: CODEBREAKERS based on Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 on 2nd and 3rd March 2022. The event was conducted in association with the G.L Bajaj Centre for Research and Incubation (GLBCRI) and Institute's Innovation Council of GLBITM, Greater Noida. Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of pressing problems one face in daily lives, instilling a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem solving. This initiative endeavoured to engage engineering college students to solve problems stated by ministries/Industries such as ISRO, AICTE, AYUSH, Coal India Limited, GAIL etc on the smart India hackathon website. Students are required to submit ideas and prototypes.

Hackathon witnessed widespread participation from all departments of institute. The event started with great enthusiasm by inauguration ceremony at SBG Hall, Academic Block 2, GLBITM. The ceremony started with the welcome address of Dr. Rajeev Agrawal, DirectorGLBITM and was graced by the presence of all dignitaries. Dr. SS Chauhan, HoD-CSE & AI shared the success of G.L. Bajaj bright minds in past SIH competition. Dr. Satyendra Sharma, HoD-ECE motivated students to integrate their software-based ideas with hardware by collaborating with electronics students. The inauguration ceremony was concluded by briefing the rules and themes of SIH 2022 to the participants by the student coordinators after which the participants were guided to the Hackathon event venue in Academic block-2, 9th floor, GLBITM.

The teams presented their solutions and ideas to judges comprising of senior faculty members where they were judged on complexity of the solution, completion, innovation, presentation, execution and the solution itself. The results of the Hackathon were declared, out of 18 participating teams, 10 teams were selected and 5 teams were in waitlist according to the SIH 2022 requirement. The event was successfully organized by the organizing secretary(s) Dr. Astha Sharma, Mr. Vimal Singh and Mr. Vivek Sharma.
