A strong synergy between academia and industry is essential in today’s dynamic and competitive global landscape for nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and driving economic growth. At G L Bajaj, we are committed to developing skilled professionals who are well- versed in emerging technologies and capable of meeting industry expectations.
We believe that academia and industry are two integral pillars of national development, functioning as complementary forces in shaping the future. Our vision is to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application by fostering close collaboration with industry leaders. Through a dynamic curriculum, industry-aligned pedagogy, and a strong focus on research and innovation, we aim to create a vibrant ecosystem where academic knowledge is transformed into impactful real-world solutions.
Context
Through continuous interaction with various industries, we have recognized a significant gap between academia and industry. This gap directly impacts students’ employability and placement prospects. Furthermore, the rapid pace of technological advancement in recent years has made it even more essential to establish strong connections with companies and industries in order to understand their evolving requirements and prepare students accordingly.
Collaboration between industry and academia ensures that students are well-acquainted with corporate expectations and are better prepared to meet them. Since G L Bajaj is affiliated with AKTU and follows a prescribed curriculum, the institute also offers value-added courses to help bridge this gap and make students industry-ready.
Objective
The primary objective of the AIC Cell at G L Bajaj is to establish a sustainable, structured framework for collaboration between the academic environment and the corporate world. The aim is to integrate practical industry exposure with academic learning to enhance the skill set, employability, and professional preparedness of students. Through continuous engagement with industry experts, the committee endeavors to align educational practices with current market demands and encourages innovation and problem solving skills among students and faculty.
Formation of the AIC Committee
To drive the vision of effective industry-academia collaboration, G L Bajaj has constituted the Academia-Industry Connect (AIC) Committee. This committee is composed of HODs and experienced faculty members from various departments. It serves as the central body responsible for identifying potential industry partners, facilitating academic-industry
interactions, organizing expert lectures, internships, industrial visits, and overseeing collaborative research projects.
The committee also monitors the implementation of value-added programs designed to supplement the university curriculum and ensure students are equipped with domain- relevant knowledge and professional competencies. Regular feedback from industry stakeholders is sought to refine academic offerings, ensuring they remain relevant and responsive to technological advancements and workforce needs.
